Award Winning Author Visits Southampton School District

In marking Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Southampton School District hosted award-winning author Christopher Stewart, who penned the “Becoming Ari” series.

While visiting the elementary school, Stewart read from his book “Becoming Ari: The Page Turner Project” and spoke to students about his book and writing process. He also answered questions from students.

During an assembly at the high school, Stewart spoke to students about his life as a writer and librarian and his life work to promote peace and love. Following the talk, the high schoolers broke out into student-led seminar session groups, where they talked about what things they would do to change the world, actions that demonstrate respect, how to make new students feel welcome and more.
