Southampton High School senior Jett DeSane recently signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic pursuits in college. He committed to playing golf at Mount Saint Mary College, where he will study criminology.
DeSane said he selected the college for its academics, golf program and campus location.
While DeSane only played golf for one varsity season, he found that he excelled at the sport and had a passion for it. He said he would have never imagined himself on the golf course if it wasn’t for his grandfather gifting him a set of his old golf clubs and a friend inspiring him to give the sport a try.
Prior to playing golf, DeSane was a varsity soccer player and captain of the varsity track team, with which he earned a spot at states in the 4x100 relay.
When not playing sports, DeSane serves as a class officer for his school.
The Southampton School District congratulates DeSane on his dedication to his sport.
