Southampton High School students in Maria Abbadessa's Italian classes had a delicious and educational experience on Fat Tuesday (March 4), the final day of Carnevale. As part of the celebration, the students used a pasta maker and followed step-by-step instructions to make the traditional Italian dessert chiacchiere. The hands-on activity gave them a deeper appreciation for the role food plays in Italian culture. It also highlighted how Italian celebrations bring people together to socialize, have fun and share in the joy of good food. The lesson concluded with the heartfelt wish — buon appetito!
