Baking Up an Irish Tradition

Southampton High School students in Dianna D'Amico's Food Industry classes celebrated St. Patrick's Day by learning how to bake beautiful loaves of Irish soda bread and soda scones filled with traditional mix-ins like raisins and caraway seeds. Students remixed the recipe and used their creativity, creating dried cherry and chocolate chip varieties. It was the first time many have ever made this St. Patrick’s Day staple.
