Southampton High School seniors Elijah Abella and Marin Gilmartin were recently honored by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance as winners of the Suffolk Zone Award. They were selected based on their outstanding character, exceptional leadership in the school environment and status as physical fitness role models for other students. Abella is a varsity baseball player and Gilmartin is a varsity field hockey team member. Additionally, Dylan Arrieta Vivar, Kai Kent and Laura Perez Mesa earned the Middle School Suffolk Zone Health & Physical Education Leadership Award, and Gabriel Escobar, Yuleisy Perez and Juan Uluan Franco were recognized as Elementary School Suffolk Zone Health & Physical Education Leadership Award winners. The Southampton School District congratulates all the students on this well-deserved honor.
