The members of Southampton High School’s Class of 2025 were presented with their diplomas during the district’s 132nd annual commencement exercises on June 27.

During the ceremony, speakers took the podium to offer congratulations and words of wisdom. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Fatima Morrell and high school Principal Dr. Brian Zahn praised the graduates for their dedication and wished them well.

“Hold fast to your dreams and never give up,” Dr. Morrell advised, concluding with, “Soar, Southampton Class of 2025!”

Among those representing the graduating class at the podium were Lilly Emma Telvi, who spoke on behalf of the summa cum laude graduates, and Ashley Vanessa Uruchima Tenecora, who spoke for the student body. Each shared their memories of high school and offered thoughtful advice.

The ceremony also featured performances by senior musicians, followed by the presentation of diplomas.

Among the 185 graduates, 22 students graduated with honors, 25 with high honors and 35 with highest honors; 55 graduates were members of the National Honor Society; one-third of the class took Advanced Placement courses; 37 graduates earned a Seal of Biliteracy; 87 graduates will continue their education at four-year colleges and universities; 42 will attend two-year colleges and trade schools; 31 graduates have been involved in a BOCES vocational training program; and four graduates are entering the armed forces.
