Posted Date: 10/23/25 (4:00 PM)

The Southampton High School Rotary Interact Club has proudly been awarded the Rotary Citation for Interact Clubs, also known as the Club Excellence Award, for its outstanding efforts during the 2024-2025 school year. This prestigious recognition honors Interact clubs that achieve significant goals aligned with Rotary International’s Action Plan, focusing on leadership, service and global citizenship.

At the Suffolk County Rotary District Meeting earlier this fall, District Governor Lydia Wells personally presented the award to the Southampton Interact Club, recognizing the club’s achievement of 11 out of 14 targeted goals for the year.

To earn the award, club members selected and completed meaningful service initiatives in partnership with their sponsor Rotary club. These included a fundraiser to support local scholarships for graduating seniors and a schoolwide mental health awareness project, Pass It on Post-Its. The Interact Club also prioritized leadership development by introducing the Rotary Youth program to over 100 fellow students as part of a presentation in English and Spanish. Another major success for the club was its growth. From just a handful of members the previous year, the Interact Club expanded to nearly 20 active members, surpassing its membership goal and laying the foundation for future leadership and service.
