Southampton High School Students Turn Music Into Art
Posted Date: 02/05/26 (03:58 PM)

Southampton High School students in Dianna D’Amico’s pop culture, fashion and style class recently blended music and art through a cross-disciplinary project. As part of the project, students drew inspiration from song lyrics, themes and cultural influences of freestyle, disco, salsa and hip-hop music that defined New York City in the late 1980s and ’90s to create original works of art. Their pieces will be showcased as part of the inaugural First Light student art exhibit at the Southampton Arts Center. The exhibit runs from Feb. 7-May 3.
