Southampton Culinary Students Create Fast-Casual Pizza Bar Experience

Students in Dianna D’Amico’s culinary course at Southampton High School recently put their skills to the test by creating a pizza bar modeled after popular fast-casual franchises such as Blaze Pizza and PizzaRev. Working in teams, students designed and operated a pizza assembly line featuring more than a dozen toppings, allowing diners to customize their own pies. The class produced more than 100 made-to-order personal pizzas that they shared with their peers and staff members. In addition to practicing cooking skills, the students also demonstrated proper food handling and kitchen safety procedures.
