Serving Up Thanks For Southampton Veterans 

The Southampton High School Mariners Patriot Club, under the direction of Thea Fry, held its 17th annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner on Oct. 28.

The event paid tribute to over 350 local veterans and their families for their sacrifices and service to the country. The veterans were treated to a delicious dinner donated by the Italian American Association of Hampton Bays and special dishes prepared by members of the high school Italian Club, including fresh bruschetta and Caprese skewers.

Special performances were given by Southampton High School’s band, chorus and string quartet, Shinnecock drummer Nootimus Williams and Kevin Urbano, who sang “Non Piu Andrai.”  

The veterans were further honored by members of the elementary school’s student council and community service club, members of the Southampton High School Key Club and Rotary Interact, and the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Also in attendance were Southampton Town village and county officials, police officers, firefighters, members of the Southampton Town Police Explorers Program and representatives from Congressman Nick LaLota’s office.
